Him and Henry Winter are a pair of shitcunts but if he can sniff out a story with legs here then I can look the other way...

I don’t like Holt as he is forever virtue signalling and has wrote a series of dubious columns about racism amongst England fans.
This from a man who is John Terry biographer.

Whatever happened to Rob Shepherd a man not adverse to holding his hands up in an Essex wine bar should the need arise.

Surprised Holt is writing about us highlighting the inadequacy of the board as he was the one who wanted us relegated instead of Sheff Utd over Tevezgate.

Re: Oliver Holt in Daily Mail
We are in the top 4 of biggest London Clubs - that is a big deal whatever anybody says in much the same way that Everton, Citeh, Liverpool and United are a huge deal in the north west.

We just don't have the sustained trophy success to show for it but the support has always been there but we've never had the right people in the boardroom to build upon it.

Quite an interesting chat on the radio with Danny Kelly last night who had some manc journo on. Kelly was basically saying we are quite a big deal down south, whereas the manc said nobody cares about us up north, as we never win anything and are basically a small club, and that the media obsession is only because so many people in the media down here support us.

Re: Oliver Holt in Daily Mail
Yeah, it's a bit like that. In the sense that there are certain parts of the media which would love nothing more than to screw over their rivals and grind them into oblivion. But only they could screw over their rivals etc.

Once the owners sent that letter, every sports desk in Britain thought "this creates news - fuck it, we're gunning for them too...we'll just do it better than that lot..."

Re: Oliver Holt in Daily Mail
No coincidence, though, that there has been a succession of newspaper and broadcast pieces about the owners since their legal letter to Sky.

They've misjudged it.

The media are ferocious in competition with each other, but paradoxically they tend to rally round and attack critics. It's a weird, small and protective world. Good and bad.

When I said they haven't given the journalists anything new to print, I meant it as they can't always run with the same BS stories, how they are fans etc, saved us etc etc all the same cliches rolled out every year.

Re: Oliver Holt in Daily Mail
Why is anybody giving credence to this cunt? I remember his mealy mouthed comments during the "Tevezgate" scandal. He is a typical pro north shit journalist and his truths are based on hearsay. How could he know anything that is going on in tge game with his head wedged firmly up Sir Alex Ferguson's arsehole.

Sold - the Steinberg piece in independent.ie is the same as in The Guardian. Syndicated/ licensed.

It remains a much better analysis than Holt's though, which is just sarcastic.

Mike Oxsaw 6:47 Mon Feb 10
Re: Oliver Holt in Daily Mail
The piece is no more childish than the boards decision to sue one of the MSM affiliates because an individual on it expressed a personal opinion they didn't like.

Had they countered that opinion in an adult & mature manner, what we have now would not be happening.

Anything that slags off the owners is fine by me but I do agree with others comments that the piece comes across as childish in tone

He's putting the boot into the owners, not the club or fans. Let's not cut off our nose to spite our face.

Along with the other cunt Winter, Holt is personna non grata for me. They were the main ones putting the boot in, and it comes as no surprise that he is putting the boot in now. I haven't and wouldn't read anything by that cunt.
